Hi! I’m Pamela. I’m an attorney, a mother, a wife, and, like most of you, a digital media consumer. My goal here isn’t to share information in “legalese” so that you feel overwhelmed and have no choice but to hire me. Enough people all over TikTok and Instagram are putting in endless hours to achieve that. No. My goal is to share the information that I find valuable but, sadly, inaccessible.
Am I available for work? Yes. Can we work together? Depends on your needs and if you’re in/out of the state of NY so, maybe. Will I answer all of your burning legal questions? I will try! However, nothing that I share here is legal advice. I will make sure that you walk away from each post feeling equipped to navigate all of the horrific, sometimes funny, mostly scary legal situations I see too many creatives and business owners in day after day.
Before I jump in and give you a preview of what our first topic will be, I want to share a bit about myself. This is not very New Yorker of me, but by getting to know me, what you read from here on out will make a lot of sense.
The most important things you’ll need to know about me are that I’m from the Bronx, and I’m currently licensed in the state of NY but live right outside of the city in North Jersey with my son and my husband. The Bronx part of that is important for no reason other than it is. Wait. That’s not true. It’s much bigger than that. Where I’m from has greatly impacted my decision to serve and educate the demographic that I focus on when given the opportunity. POC with similar backgrounds and really big dreams.
At this point, you’re probably wondering what kind of law I practice. Let me just say that even though I practice a specific kind of law, I am knowledgeable in other areas and will casually share some case studies I find exciting or interesting. You’ll want to be here for that. As a matter of fact, why don’t you go ahead and press the button below so that you don’t miss future posts? I’ve got one coming on NYFW and Intellectual Property and another where we break down what we know about the case against an influencer who scammed people out of a lot of money.
You were wondering what I do. I’ll tell you what I told my son with some additional garnish for easy digestion. The world is full of artists, business owners, and people who create beautiful things like art, products, or even services. My job is to make sure these people/businesses are protected. I’m making sure their ideas are protected. I’m making sure they’re getting paid, and when they’re not, I’m using my legal expertise to come up with solutions when something goes wrong.
Things go wrong all of the time. From bad business deals to disagreements between business partners. Infringement on their work, to overdue invoices. Overall, awful situations that I hope you never find yourself in. I’m also there to make sure things go right. To do that, I help businesses see the bigger picture for their ventures by printing in my years of legal expertise to develop a strategy that equips and empowers them.
I can do my job in any capacity as long as it’s something I’m knowledgeable in. However, I choose to focus on small business owners. It wasn’t always like this, and I wish I could tell you there was a page-turning “aha” moment when I realized this was what I wanted to do. There isn’t. When I initially decided to launch my firm, my self-doubt and uncertainty questioned the possibility of success, given that so many businesses already have legal representation. I mean, how else would they be in business?
WRONG!
DMs started to pour in, and I quickly realized that was not the case. Not the case for those just starting out. Not the case for established businesses. Not the case for “small” entities and certainly not the case for large businesses with eye-catching marketing and an intimidating amount of followers. This shows you that, as the saying goes, “You don’t know what you don’t know.” The last few years have taught me that, in most cases, you don’t even know what you think you know. That’s because what you think you know was probably explained to you in a predatory manner that left you with a false sense of security but instead set you up for failure so that the person who didn’t equip you with the tools you need to protect yourself could also be the person you have to hire when things go wrong. It happens, and it’s likely not your fault.
98% of my clients are WOC. Before actively committing to this demographic, I gravely underestimated just how important it was for people to work with attorneys who looked like them. I find that culturally, many POC experience a distrust of government, police, and lawyers. For good reason! I wanted to offer representation in every sense of the way and show a different but familiar face of the law. A familiar voice, too. Yo hablo Español!
It was and remains essential that I become a trusted voice that can explain legal concepts in a way that doesn’t leave people confused and afraid but leaves them feeling secure and empowered to make sound business decisions. I hope to do that across every avenue I can access, and I’m starting here. I’ll have you know I’m also starting with a bit of a banger. NYFW. I have questions. Number one, why are you guys not asking questions? Number two, how are these common mistakes I’m repeatedly seeing not common knowledge? Million-dollar agencies and their talent are in jeopardy due to careless intellectual property oversights.
You have questions, too! Do I own the photo I hired my photographer to take? Can I sign over image rights to a publication? I just saw my picture in Vogue. What do I do?
I’ve got the answers to the questions you’re asking (or not asking but should be asking if we’re honest). Make sure to subscribe below so that you don’t miss a thing.

Always remember that I am an attorney but not your attorney. All of this information is just that, information. This content should be viewed for informational and educational purposes only. None of it should be considered legal advice.
